1995 Facts

There were rumours that Ireland had entered a song that would not be too popular with the European audience so as to avoid hosting the contest for a fourth time. This was never proven, however it did inspire an episode of 'Father Ted' in which the Priests decide to enter a song called 'My Lovely Horse'.

The winning song proved a little controversial as it was more instrumental than vocal performance
