1991 Facts

Initially intended to be hosted in Sanremo, due to mounting tensions in neighbouring Yugoslavia the venue was moved to Rome which was perceived to be safer.

This was the first contest that saw Germany enter as a unified country.

The contest ended in a draw between Sweden and France, the tie-break rules put in place after the four-way tie in 1969 saw Sweden declared the winner.
