Who Won in 1990?

1990 Facts

Technically speaking Croatia is the only non-winning country to have ever hosted the contest as it's capital Zagreb hosted in 1990 although it was still part of Yugolsalvia at the time.

1990 saw a rule change, all competitors had to be 16 years old on the day of the contest, setting the scene for a Junior Eurovision Song Contest to be held.

Held just six months after the fall of the Berlin Wall, many songs focussed on unity and democracy.

The winning song was a celebration of the European Single Market, due for completion in 1992.
