1977 Facts

The contest was originally to be held on 7th April, but due to a strike by BBC cameramen & technicians, the contest was postponed for a month. It was the first time the contest was held in May, which would eventually become its regular timing.

The newly-built Wembley Conference Centre had only been open a few months when it hosted the contest.
